The socio-ecological transformation of the economy and society aims to ensure that all people can live well together in the present and future while respecting planetary boundaries. The transformation towards a CO2-neutral economy leaves no household or company in Germany untouched.
How can this socio-ecological transformation succeed? The challenges and opportunities associated with the transformation for the economy and for companies will be discussed on the panel by representatives from companies, trade unions and science.

Cooperation with:

German Commission for Justice and Peace, Berlin

Special note:

Online participation in the event is possible via livestream on the YouTube channel of the Catholic Academy in Bavaria

Programme of the event:

The socio-ecological transformation of the economy and society aims to ensure that all people can live well together in the present and future while respecting planetary boundaries. The "conversion of the ship on the high seas" (Otto Neurath) is not an unattainable task, but a realistic option for the future. The transformation to a CO2-neutral economy leaves no household or company in Germany untouched. How can this socio-ecological transformation succeed? We would like to reflect on and discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with the transformation for the economy and for companies with you as part of the panel discussion "The socio-ecological transformation - Understanding it as an opportunity for the economy and companies!". With this event in May 2024, the German Commission for Justice and Peace and the Catholic Academy in Bavaria are launching the annual "Forum for Future and Transformation" series. As part of these events, various dimensions of socio-ecological transformation will be analysed and discussed with representatives from the business world. The German Commission Justitia et Pax (Justice and Peace) acts as a "round table" of Catholic institutions and organisations that are active in the area of the Church's international responsibility in Germany. Its members include bishops, representatives of the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK), senior staff from the offices of the German Bishops' Conference, aid organisations and other Catholic organisations as well as experts in international politics. Justitia et Pax is organised by the German Bishops' Conference and the ZdK.
