The present is a time of conflict. These are located at both national and international level. They range from the war in Ukraine to resource conflicts in the face of climate change and conflicts in democratic coexistence in the face of centrifugal forces. The political and legal responses to these conflicts and wars are usually highly controversial in society and in some cases divide the democratic societies of the West as well as the global community as a whole.
