Membership of a church and the expectations, hopes and challenges associated with it have changed radically in Germany in recent years. This is also shown by the latest church membership survey (KMU). It paints a well-founded and differentiated picture of Protestant and, for the first time, Catholic church members. It clearly shows which factors are important for people's relationship with the church.
In an evening panel discussion, we want to shed light on the key findings of the study and reflect on the future of church life: What does it mean to belong to the church in an increasingly secular and diverse society? How can employees orientate themselves more towards the expectations of their members? And what does this change mean for our society as a whole?
