PINXIT refers to painting signatures of the early modern period: this is how painters signed their works. In doing so, they emphasised both their individual authorship and the high status of painting, which had been fought for since the Renaissance. Anke Doberauer's class is almost exclusively devoted to painting. In the dialogue between the works of twenty-two young painters, the search for formal and thematic solutions and the play with the viewer's perception are combined with questions about the current human condition. The strongly international orientation of the class results in very different perspectives on world events based on individual experiences. Fragmented world views condense on the canvas to form a narrative that needs to be deciphered.
Special note:
It is not necessary to register for the vernissage.
