The abuse scandal is giving the Catholic Church no peace. Much good has happened in recent years. But important questions are still disputed: How and to what extent do those affected receive financial recognition for their suffering?
Should the church allow claims for damages or insist on the statute of limitations? Which forms of processing have proven successful and where do gaps remain in the methodology? What reforms should the Church derive from the systemic causes of abuse? And must the state intervene more strongly?
