New church images

Out of the box

The question is what a future of church can look like, locally and digitally. What images of the church, what visions do we have? Where should and where can the journey go? And what is currently happening in terms of new beginnings and changes? What developments have taken place in recent years - also under the impression of the Corona pandemic? What is worth further development and promotion? And where does it make sense to say goodbye to approaches and activities?
Reason enough to think and discuss "out of the box" for the Church on the Web conference. We cordially invite you to this and to the entire conference!

Programme of the event:

Last year, organisers and participants celebrated 15 years of the Church on the Web. And as the review showed, a lot has already happened in this time, which - in technical terms - ranges from the first smartphone to the metaverse. But there seems to be even more change ahead of us. Church images are changing. In addition to the reorganisation of territorial church structures, which, after the Catholic Church, are now also beginning in the Protestant Church (and unfortunately often ignore the digital as a living space), and numerous crisis phenomena, realignments and new beginnings can be seen in many places. The realisation that the two major Christian churches together no longer unite even half of the population in Germany can be a reason for many things, but certainly not for "business as usual". This raises the question of what the future of the church could look like, both locally and digitally. What images of the church, what visions do we have? Where should and where can the journey take us? And what new beginnings and changes are currently taking place? What developments have taken place in recent years - also under the impact of the coronavirus pandemic? What is worth further development and promotion? And where does it make sense to abandon approaches and activities? Reason enough to think and discuss "out of the box" for the Church on the Web symposium. We cordially invite you to this and the entire conference!
