Secure food supply with less pesticides?

To protect our plants from pests and diseases
Tuesday, 09.05.2023

Plant pests and diseases destroy up to 40 percent of the annual harvest. Climate change and human activities have already changed ecosystems, reduced biodiversity - and created new niches. In these, pests can often thrive undisturbed due to a lack of predators.
How can we prevent the spread of plant pests and diseases? And with fewer pesticides.

On the occasion of International Plant Health Day (on 12 May), acatech will continue to ask on Tuesday, 9 May 2023, 6 p.m.: How does the immune system of plants work? What technical solutions contribute to integrated plant protection? How can the spread of pests be effectively prevented?
